Hard roll-up of DS window

I have a '71 with new window regulators and the DS window is pretty hard to roll up/down. I sprayed a little lithium and it's better but still pretty stiff. Seems like it gets really stiff about 2/3 the way up.

Thx!

Re: Hard roll-up of DS window

3M silicone paste. Put it in the channel runs.

Re: Hard roll-up of DS window

I had the same problem, I changed the flet that runs in the front chanel, back of the wing and they now work as new.

What kind of shape are the felt channels in? There isn't much adjustment in the window channels. You can adjust the bottom of the rear one a little bit but there is no adjustment in the front because the wing window is mounted solid. With the window down check the felt channel where it goes down inside of the door at the rear. Sometimes the felt pops out of the metal guide in that location and creates a bind.

If new felt has been installed at some point in time and all of the old felt wasn't removed from the wing window channel, that will also cause the window to bind.

Let us know what you find after you check it out.
