Put my truck up for sale and I'm struggling
It's hurts but I need the funds. Letting it go I don't think is my biggest problem, it's who I'd be letting it go to. I wish people wouldn't tell me what they want the truck for. I know it's not the kind of truck a collector is looking for, but it's so amazingly solid that it needs preserved, and restored but I've got people telling me they need it for their business to haul stuff, and all I can picture is it getting worked to the ground and then junked. I'd love for something to change really fast so that I wouldn't need to sell, but I'm afraid I'll just have to work through the pain and let go .

Been there, did that.
Just tell yourself: "If they meet my price, they can do whatever they want with it." Family needs come first, and there are other trucks out there. "Someday" will eventually come. |

Re: Put my truck up for sale and I'm struggling
I tell people that "I don't care if you go out in your backyard, dig a hole, push the truck in that hole, fill it full of dirt, and call it a planter. It's your truck (or car) now, do what you want to it." I really don't even want to know.
Then I turn away, knowing that it's not my first, last, or best. Hopefully???

I'd be proud to have my truck work, that's what is was built for and not many old fords and dodges still working. Besides, they work it to death and in 5 years you buy it back for half the price

they are prob. just telling you that to get you thinking they dont know its actually a classic so youll go down on the price. it sucks to let go of something that youve put time sweat and in my case, blood into. I just sold my blazer for the same reason.

I don't see it for sale on here? You might get someone who appreciates it for what it is on here.

Re: Put my truck up for sale and I'm struggling
As I see it -- if you get your asking price and sell, it will no longer be yours. Whatever the new owner decides to do with it is strictly their business. I understand your concern for your truck, but it won't be your truck anymore. Same as when you bought it -- it was someone else's, then it became yours, and the previous owner no longer had any say in what you did with it.
Most of us have been down that road before. I have sold some fairly decent vehicles over the years and unfortunately, a few of them met with an untimely demise. Not my problem because at that point, they didn't belong to me. In the end, it's just a vehicle and you can get another one after your situation improves. The important thing is you are doing what you need to in order to take care of yourself & your family.
