? about price of a truck
i stopped to look at a 72 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive long bed in my area and was suprised at the price. it was a super with a 350 and auto posi rear. it had factory ac. all of these are nice options but the body was in bad shape it needed the typical lower cab sheetmetal as well as bed side. the tailgate was mangaled. the tag in the window said rare truck how true is this. he wanted 4500 is this what you would expect to pay in pa. it also had the sloted mag wheels where these a factory option.

First to the board...where in PA?
Second I payed $600 for my 68 lwb 2wd with some pretty bad rust down below and a mangled bed, I think I payed to much but I love the truck. For a 4x4 with those options and bad rust and body work I don't know if I'd pay over $1k for it. Plus good lwb beds, or bedsides for that matter are not cheap! If you can pics that may help. Good luck, Mike

I don't think mag wheels were available from the factory. I may be wrong but mag slots were aftermarket...If they are GM wheels they should have GM stamps on them. Check the glove box to see if there was a wheel option listed, if not the it should be just steel wheels.

Low miles and no or little rust gets more money. If you gotta weld or have alot done and has a ton of miles buy it cheap or walk. Sounds like to much!!

a good solid lwb bed up your way is gonna probably cost you about a 1000 bucks if you can even find one. none of the long bed stuff is made aftermarket.that sounds like a 1500-2k dollar truck tops thats if mechanically its in awesome shape new brakes good sterring. newer or rebuilt eng and trans etc etc. for 4500 walk away and just wait to find something better cheaper. with gas prices going the way they are lots of people are going to start unloading old cars and trucks because they cant afford to drive them

I paid 2K for a lwb 68 with the typical cab rust.. needs a new bedfloor and significant work on the bedsides.. with a new drivetrain.
I probably paid too much.

Sounds very close to what mine was like when I bought it, minus the AC and my bed needed both sides. ('72, 4x4, 350, high miles with newer motor, lower cab rust, all stock except rims) I paid 1K for mine, so maybe $1500-2000 depending on mileage.

Hmmm, a bit high in general, but the right person might bite...........
Highest I paid for one was $1300 and drove it home('71 C-20 Cheyenne, 350, 3spd, nothing fancy) it has some rust on the lower cab area and the bed, but I drove it a year until we ruined the bed on the farm and then I popped on a $65 stake body. The 350 was starting to go as they just aren't cut out for farm work where a lot of low end grunt was needed, so I tossed it and put a Cummins Diesel in it. Now if I could just stop using it enough to fix the rockers, cab supports, cab corners and get it repainted I'll have a very useable truck for under $5000. I paid $750 for my GMC t-tag and I could have resold it for triple that a few times. If it didn't have a V-6 in it I probably would have We bought alot of C-10's for less than $300 in various condition, Picked up a K-10 for $50 I hate to say it, but atleast for us, days of cheap '67-'72's are over. The ones that haven't been sold already either aren't for sale, or the owners want blood for them. The greater Williamsport area is pretty picked over now, I know where a good half dozen are setting but the owner won't sell, also know where a decent '67 is at, but it isn't in too great of shape. I'd like to find a 4x4 cheap, but they are like a needle in a haystack around this town.

Well I've seen a few on the board a few weeks ago for a reasonable price and if you do buy it, The money gets divided - the women get excited, Now I'm broke and it's no joke, it's hard as hell to fight it - don't buy it!, until the price comes down at least 1g.

I ran across a 72 LB camper special with air, had a fresh 400 small block, pretty decent body, only thing was they had left compressor off when they installed the engine, guy thought the owner wanted $1000 for it. Still a few around southern Alabama but getting more scarce for sure.

In this area a high-end K/20 is a rare vehicle.Mine are all "imported" from out west.A rust-free truck is rare, too. For those who seek these, they are on the same level as a short Fleetside big block to those who seek these.Top of the food chain, holy grail.Rusted rockers and cab corners are expected on these trucks, even from California. It really is no worse to have little bubbles in you paint just starting than to have most of that section gone to rust.Either way you need to do the same repair. These sections gone aren`t always an indication there is worse rust hiding elsewhere, like in the floor or cab supports. If the rust is throughout the cab, yeah, that brings the cost down a good bit. There`s a sweet looking vinyl top`72 on this site with rusted rockers and I`ll bet he wouldn`t think about letting that go for $4500.And,that`s a K/10.Not quite as rare.Around here it is,though. These trucks restored are worth $15-25 thousand dollars. You have to look at it as a starting point,if that`s what you want.I`d say any operational 4wd from these years is worth 2-25 hundred dollars. If you get one for cheaper, more power to ya.It costs $1,000 or more to bring a nice western truck back here.I`d have to see the truck, but it could be worth $4500.Especially if it has other options above what you mentioned. As always, see how low he`d go.
