Hello from Norway - with a slightly different Chevy
Hello, folks! My name is Harald, I live in Norway and own this set of wheels:
It's a 1974 Pronto fire appliance, made by Hämmerli of Switzerland. The body is coachbuilt, but the frame and running gear however is a K20 truck, with the 4.8l inline six. The frame is lengthened a bit at the very front. The cab-over steering is provided by what I think is a steering column from a Chevy van from the same area. Being built on a very common vehicle, parts are cheap and easily available, provided I'm able to figure out what those parts really are! I'm hoping I can pick your brains to figure out a thing our two, as the old gal needs some maintenance from time to time. |

Re: Hello from Norway - with a slightly different Chevy
Thanks for the welcome. I'll put up more pics eventually. Just now I'm elbows deep in 40 years of assorted wiring. I'm hoping to have it sorted today, but we'll see.
