Re: Can someone PLEASE tell me my paint code

That is 46 Dark Green WA5282.
http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...=50&size=large

There have been a number of names for it over the years and suble variations like WE5101.
http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...=50&size=large

In the end it is still GM classic truck dark green with a hint towards blue. Actually it is my favorite GM green.

Not too sure how its going to look as a tinted bedliner though. If it were me a quality repairable single stage is the way to go and keep the color.

Re: Can someone PLEASE tell me my paint code

It is. Don't get hung up on trade names or worse yet the sales names GM marketing dreams up every year. Stick to the codes and you will be OK.

Re: Can someone PLEASE tell me my paint code

Thanks again tim...one more question, is it true that all these trucks (pre 1980) were "single stage" paint jobs from the factory, as there was no such thing as "two stage" back then?

Re: Can someone PLEASE tell me my paint code

To the best of my knowledge your truck was originally finished with a single stage acrylic enamel paint. here are the GM refinish codes for 79 trucks.

Re: Can someone PLEASE tell me my paint code

Tim is correct.

Base coat / clear coat did not start on trucks until around 1988.

Your truck would be considered "high solid enamel".

Whereabouts in Clarkston are you located?

I'm within walking distance of the venue formerly known as "Pine Knob".
