67-71 door panel caption nut

As title says, Does anyone reproduce these little square caption nuts that holds the lower four screws on the metal door panels? I can't find them anywhere.

You should be able to source these locally, do a google search for "1/4-20 cage nuts"

Re: 67-71 door panel caption nut

I have the same issue and the nylon insert is a great idea. But, I am also missing one for the arm rest and I am not so sure the nylon insert will be strong enough (although they really are fairly strong...those inserts are holding the mirrors to my doors...done by PO). Anyway, I was simply going to weld a nut in the proper position. Just a few tacks from the front side would be sufficient.

Re: 67-71 door panel caption nut

68panelman i have bought from McMaster for a long time with small orders. These cage nuts come 25 to a pack and you can order just one. Sometimes there stuff is more expensive than at ACE, but rarely have i run into a minimum buy situation.

Re: 67-71 door panel caption nut

Calling ahead is the smart thing to do. If they have what you want you go there then you can educate yourself. calling doesn't prevent you from ever walking down the isles, it prevents you from wasting time, fuel, and frustration. I've been there, Ace doesn't sell these

I'm always learning like us all on here, what I don't like is people making assumptions of other members knowledge
I've been playing with these trucks for quite some time, over 25yrs, and this is the first time I don't have this nut in house (believe me I save everything)
You should change your screen name to "Putdowns" cause out of your 22,200 posts, there're all negative.

Those will work as well. Found mine at the local Lowe's store and used them on my armrests. They were in the little drawer bins in the hardware section where you can find all sorts of oddball tid bits.
