Mag wheel question 2

I didn't want to hijack the other thread, but it brought up a question for me. I want slot mag wheels for my c20 but unfortantly they are hard to find and are only 16.5 for 8 lug. How would these look compared to the slot mags? Opinions on other look alike wheels?

Re: Mag wheel question 2

There are very few 16.5 tires still around except for large off road tires. I would go with the ultras before 16.5 rims. It is very difficult to find regular 16" 8 lug slot wheels and when you do they are very expensive.

Re: Mag wheel question 2

That's my problem with them. 16.5 tires are not very available. I work in a tire shop and have many resources and there are not many choices. Not to mention they are no longer stocked at shops if you have problems away from home. That's why I'm looking for alternate options. Do you guys think the ultras would look similar to slot mags on our trucks? Or would they look out of place

Re: Mag wheel question 2

Ok, you are asking for opinions. To my eye those look nothing like slotted mags. But they may be your only alternative for 8 lug slots in 15 or 16 inch.

Re: Mag wheel question 2

If you want slots, get slots. Those are pretty cool but are their own thing, nothing the same as slots. I see spokes as much as I see slots. Plus for me, just knowing those are from another much later era puts them with any number of other styles that came since. Interco actually makes a hiway tread 16.5

Here is my old '72 I sold to a friend. He's a wagon wheel hater (too young to get it) so first thing he did was put those on. I think they look good. They look better than anything offered today. Just saying they are far from slots in my eyes
