a/c swap questions

Well, I just lost another pancake compressor on my '92. I was wondering if any one has ever swapped to the '96 to '98 style compressor. I was thinking that it might be better (more reliable) than the pancake style.

I have a set of vortec brackets and the lines. I have to get another compressor either way.

My question is do i have to change the evaporator coil? condenser? orafice?

Re: a/c swap questions

From what I understand about the newer style ones they are prone to falling apart as well. They seem to separate over time and leak.
