Figured out the "Why" of "Alligator" and "Butterfly" hoods

it has been mentioned in previous threads how tilt front ends are the real choice for a big truck and Yes they are MUCH better for servicing...how ever this picture made me realize why I like butterfly's



A tilt is only better when it will actually open

That's why, when tilt hood is the only one available, the manufacturer modifies and installs an access hole to reach service items like oil, coolant and other daily service items .

when I get a few things sold and can buy a few parts, I should have updates on my old Heavy 60 and maybe a new 6x6 ( plus a spare) and a detroit to play with.

Bill----Off line from May 17th for a week trip to upstate eastern NY, then to York national show , Then the 3rd hip surgery on right hip on June 3rd ,with the resulting nursing home recovery till 6-19. Now in outpatient therapy and catching up on my favorite brands........Chev/GM .
