hotrod header problems

hey guys, my friends hotrod seems to be rejecting all the headers he can throw at it

the hotrod happens to be a F*rd (sorry) but it has a small block chev in it!!

So, its a 53 F100 with a roller 355/th350. It has a rear steer nova clip with power steering (not too sure on the details of that). Block hugger headers hit the steering box with the primarys (slightly) and the frame both sides, and the collectors come out right on top of the radius arm that connects the tie rods

It is a pretty custom job, so I'd just appreciate it if someone could maybe take a guess as to what kind of headers might possibly fit

here it is

What are some of the brands tried? And would it be safe to assume they are short style headers? I would imagine that the only type that may fit are going to be shorties or stock manifolds. There is just too much that has been modified. I would build a set. It is not that difficult. Even if you have to tack a kit together and get someone else to TIG them, I think it would be worth it in the long run. I'm just afraid that if you find a set to clear the gearbox and frame there will be other issues like starter or oil filter interference. Hopefully I'm wrong and someone else can recommend something. If you want to look into building a set start here They are great. Good luck and tell your buddy that's a nice looking truck. Needs a 429 and Mustang II set up though :p

What part numbers or vehicle aplications did he try? I would say that a set of Nova headers whould fit right up with the only possable interference would be the steering shaft and maybe the heater box.
