700r4 dipstick ???

I was told a 700r4 and 4l60 dipstick and tube are the same pretty much any year. I ordered one off eBay for my 700r4 and I'm beginning to think it's incorrect and causing me to overfill my trans. Can anyone confirm if they are the same for most? I dropped the pan and it's hard to tell.

A TH700R4 and a 4L60 are the same transmission, You may not have the proper dipstick and tube. Only way to know for sure is to compare it with one that you know is for a TH700R4.

Re: 700r4 dipstick ???

We dropped the trans pan at work yesterday and verified it's indicating properly. My mysterious fluid leak (which we thought may be from overfilling) was coming from the TV cable seal.
