jag ifs on bags how low will it go?

do i need to cut the jag ifs xmember into the frame rails to allow the running boards to touch the floor on full drop, or will it do it just welded under the stock rails? 195/70/15 tyres

Yes you will need a frame notch. Actually it will take several inches of notch to get the running boards on the ground.http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...59470605947060 There is a little air in the bags in this picture

thanks for replying.. im planning on a four bar rear end with a normal axle.. up front im using a jag ifs from an xj6.. ive just mocked it up under the frame with no spring or airbags at the moment to see how far it drops.. looks like my boards are still 1 and 1/2 inches above the ground with the 195 70 15 tyres

My XJ6 IFS is soft mounted and not cut into the frame of my '49 GMC.

With 26.5" diameter tires and the XJ6's cross member about 6" off the ground (this is about what it'd be from the factory on a series 3 XJ6), the running boards are 6-7" off the ground. With 195-70/15 tires, yours will be within 3/8" of mine.

I'm using the Slam 6" airbags with the internal bump stops, and the running boards will be about 2" or so off the ground with the cross-member resting on the ground when the suspension is 'aired out' - it will look very similar to Garry's picture in the previous post. The bags will be located in the spring pocket such that they engage the bump stop before the cross member touches the ground.

This is what a Jag IFS looks like with the suspension at 'factory' ride height on an AD truck. If you want it to touch the ground when aired out you'd have to notch the cross member or the frame about 1.5-2". If you don't, the front cross-member will touch the ground first and hold the running boards off the ground a couple inches.
