Door inner/Outer scrapers
I purchased some new Inner/Outer window scraper seals for my 72 Jimmy. I have never changed these, anyone have any tips? Finishing all the small things a little at a time. Thank you in advance, Chad.

Re: Door inner/Outer scrapers
I've put quite a few of these on the old Mopars, and they install the same way on our trucks. Put a piece of masking tape on the edge so that if you accidentally touch the paint with the edge of the clips you wont scratch anything. Those clips are sharp on the edge.
Line up all the clips in their corresponding holes before pushing them in. This will prevent warping the scrapers. Dan |

Re: Door inner/Outer scrapers
Good idea on the tape, they just pop out like a trim clip? Thank you

Re: Door inner/Outer scrapers
Hi, I have also replaced a lot of these. Use a seal clip tool to remove old ones. Once they are all out make sure none of the door clip slots got bowed out. If so, bend them back straight. When installing, you will find that depending on the brand, you may have to trim a small amount of rubber on the outer seal where it passes the wing window

Re: Door inner/Outer scrapers
They are a bit stubborn to remove. I had my glass out when I replaced mine because I was putting in all new weatherstrip. Made it easier to get them out.

Re: Door inner/Outer scrapers
I have new ones for mine but haven't tried tackling this one yet either. Sounds fairly simple. The ones on my impala had pop rivets to
Install them. Was much more involved.

Re: Door inner/Outer scrapers
They pretty much grab the sheet metal. It will prob be pretty hard to remove them with the glass in. They are easy to pop in but they are designed to grab and stay in. The clips can bend the sheetmetal when you try to remove them.
