coil or leaf?

i am not positive on this but were all 4x4's leaf sprung rears? i am thinking of getting a short bed 4x4 and takeing the running gear from my longbed and making it a 2 wheel drive pavment pounder then putting the 4x4 running gear onto the longbed and lifting it and having it as a winter runner. thanks for any input

I would think so because the trailing arms would limit ground clearance.

Yup, all 4X4 trucks were leaf spring equipped.
