hey fellas - I bought a set of 18" Torgue thrust II's off ebay, and was wondering if anyone has any pictures of our trucks with 18's and could tell me tire size. i have been told 255/55/18's, 285/40/18's and 255/45/18's. I just want to see what looks good. Can anybody help??? Thanks........ Jerry

What widths and offsets do they have?

Here are mine. 18x8's for the front (4.5" back spacing) and 18x9.5's in the rear (5.25" backspacing). Tires are 255/45/18's and 285/40/18's respectively (27" tall).

Here they are. Sweet deal on a set of "display" wheels. They have 4 3/4" backspacing.

I liked the 285/40's but the price was a little steep for me. About $230 a piece. I'm looking at a set of 255/55/18's. I can pick them up for $105.00 each new, out the door. Anybody got pics of our trucks with 255/55/18's?? Thaks.....Jerry

A 255/55/18 tire is going to be 29" tall. Mine pictured above are about 27" tall (for comparison). I'd pick a tire that is going to look good with your truck height/size of wheel instead of just buying a tire because it's cheap.

Tirerack.com has Dunlop "SP Sport 9000" 285/40/18's (like mine) for $210 ea.

While you are right about not going with a tire just because it's cheap, you have to realize that you are "Slammed" while I have just a 3"/4" drop. A 29" tall tire will still fill the fenders nicely and won't rub with my drop. If I had any plans of going lower, I would definitley go with the 285/40's. If I remember correctly there are a few other guys on here with about the same drop that I have and they are running 255/55's. I was hoping someone had a picture of them. Thanks for the advice, Jason, if i ever decide to go lower, i will definitly want to ask you more questions................Jerry

I'm going with 20's cuz I can get 295/40YR20's for 175

If I get them on soon I will post a pic, they are 29" tall also.

My Dakota R/T came stock with 255 55 17's you could look at a picture of one of those to get an idea of the profile of the tire...

I have 255/55/18 Kumho tires on mine. Although I have went to 20's the 18's looked great.

My 18" tires are still for sale $450 or best offer. I think they have around 400 miles on them. I know for sure I only used them for 3 tanks of gas.

I just measured the tire height of my Kumho and it was about 28.25 inches tall mounted at proper inflation.

Yes the second pic is the 18's. I waiting for some adapters for the rear tires on the 20's so only the fronts are on now. I wanted the same offset on my wheels so I could rotate them, but I had to use adapters to make that work.

Also my front center caps don't clear my hubs so Centerline is machining some new ones for me and they should be here next week.

The tire size on the 20's are 275/45/20. I don't like low profile tires since I drive my truck on Louisiana roads. In my opinion the 275/45's give a nice profile with plenty of rubber between the road and the wheel.

That's exactly what I wanted to do on my truck so I could rotate them. Do you mind telling me your wheel width, backspacing/offset info, and where you got the adapters from? What is the size of the hub bore? Will a set of wheels designed for the newer Chevys have to have the centers machined?

The adapters didn't fit right so I'm going to machine them tonight and will update everyone some time tomorrow.
