WOO HOO! Truck is FINALLY GOOD TO GO!!

I finished up replacing my header gaskets today (Used those Graphite impregnated ones). Fired it up..still didn't run right, so I swapped my #64 jets back in, thinking that was the problem...turned out, my timing was WAAAAY advanced! So I spun the distributor cap around and got it perfectly to 10º BTDC (without the vacuum advance hooked up). Then got the idle set to 650rpm, with the vacuum advanced hooked up...started it back up, took it around the block...HELL YEAH! It runs NICE! FINALLY no more of that annoying header ticking sound. Also, the idle is NIICE and smooth now.
I wanna send a big thanks out to Swervin for givin me that tip to put the distributor in without worrying.
If the rain holds out, I'll take the truck out tonight and see if I can't get some racing action with a few other truck's (Hopefully C10's) and report back to yall.

good to hear you got it running. did you put the other jets back in, or did you leave the 64s in it? wont that throw off the rest of your tuning?

oh, and street racing is bad. you're going to kill millions of innocent people every day. if you do it, you're going straight to Hell. -with that said, none of the rest of you have to do it. now Tim, go out and kick some @$$, but be careful doing it.

I put the #64's in, then tuned it...maybe I'll be ok though, since STOCK is #62...and I'm not stock.

After that ordeal, I think put miles on it before doing hard throttle.....just to make sure things are good.....
