63 gmc barn/driveway find

Just showing off the west tx 63 gmc I just picked up. It's a one family truck that went from great uncle to brother son to his son. I have mounds of repair history in folders. It's 90% rust free and very little has been changed from day one. Went from green to white in the 70's but it's showing now.

All my pictures are now showing up but fenders and one minor door repair are needed rust wise! Just going to make it a driver and recover oe seat. Has holly 500 carb. Maybe a disc swap and power brakes considering I have all new swap stuff on the shelf

Very cool! Was this one listed on CL or just word of mouth? There's a ton of these sitting in fields and yards throughout central texas. Ok maybe not GMC's with plaid valve covers, but you know what I'm saying lol.

Like your helper; he bears a uncanny resemblance to my bully! Here's a pic of my yard find here in the Hubbard area..

Nice truck! Very cool that it still has the original v6. I put a 600 cfm 4 barrel on mine.

Re: 63 gmc barn/driveway find

A buddy was on his motorcycle forum and the guy posted it up there to give his cycle buddies first shot. My friend caught the post within first 3 min and pmed the guy. He called me the next day I bought it . He had three really crappy pictures of it that were 10 years old. I didn't know what I was going to get till I drove there yesterday. Really happy! Yeah that's Carter! He gets about 15/20 min in this heat hanging with me working on the trucks. Then back inside. I'm taking the 500 off and sending it to local carb God to have it cleaned up this week.

Sweet

as for your pics, if you are posting from a phone, I believe you can only post one at a time… not sure on that though…

Along for the ride...
