Re: Faded 87 soon to be LS powered

Interior turned out good too. Put in all new window motors and lock mechanism plus switches. Panels and floors dyed black, new dash. Still need to change speedometer but this will be later project. I like just driving it for now!

Re: Faded 87 soon to be LS powered

Raceaprilia in an earlier post you have pictures of top radiator mounts, were these stock or from another application? I am planning to use a radiator from 05 or 06 with the factory electric fans these mounts look like they would be perfect.
Nice job on the swap! That interior looks sharp!
Enjoy your new ride

Thanks for the likes everyone.

The radiator mounts are stock from 87, I just cut tips away and weld in flat piece to make it hold the 05 radiator and shroud. Easy fix and does not look bad too.

Re: Faded 87 soon to be LS powered

Couple more pics of the shifter linkage. I wanted to reuse stock 05 cable but then damaged it beyond usable. Used rod eyes and bend 1/2" round bar to clear the headers. Made adjustable home made linkage to the trans. It switch perfect all gears and shifter indicator lines up perfect too.

Re: Faded 87 soon to be LS powered

And couple more of how Gibson headers run under truck linked to home made exhaust pipes. All pipes are Summit Racing parts including H pipe. Holder to the frame is placed somehow at balance point and does not apply no weight to the headers. Good deal for cheap and fast.

Re: Faded 87 soon to be LS powered

Got back to SC for couple weeks from Mexico where I work now and was able to take it out for a ride. Man I missed this truck past couple months. Ordered posi unit and 3.73 gears to rebuild complete rear end but not installed it yet. This will be on the list when I get back to Europe next year when work in Mexico is done.

Re: Faded 87 soon to be LS powered

This was last day of the red in the USA. At the moment it is in the process of getting overseas. Very excited to have unique american truck back home. I am sure people will love it there as well as they do in USA. Best part of it is that has all the mechanics already changed and will be low cost for years to come. Just hope that both toys get home safe.

I worked as production manager in USA for our company from Europe. Now in Mexico I help with establishing production processes in new facility. More or less the same job but not as favorite location as USA for me
