Re: Junk certificate vs salvage title???
Well the poster that did a truck back in the 70's that was a different time and three different eras. I have seen many many changes in the rules about stuff like that since I became a dealer back in the late 80's early 90's. back then before i even had to get D plates i could build one tag it and then sell it but then they came up with more laws limiting the amount that you could buy in a year or sell so I went thew dealer route and never looked back. One thing that has been cleaned up a bunch is the title washing it is almost out of existence now but long ago anyone could buy a Texas salvage title say and bring it to Arkansas and tag it it would come back as a pre.tx sal and then transfer it again and it would be a AR good. They have done away with that and linked the states together somewhat and if it is a junk cert in one state the other states[ With the KY exception I mentioned earlier]it stays always. Even if you find another state it may come back as a ____ state junk cert.
I wished there was another way besides the tile swap that has been suggested. I as a dealer knowing that is illegal can't do that . But if you were to swap a "portion" of the cab area around the VIN, WELL........... |

I seen a guy selling a 69 Chevy c10 tag and title around my area on Craigslist if you were interested. That truck needs to be driven

Re: Junk certificate vs salvage title???
No worries Jim. I'm sure I'll find a way to legally get it titled and registered. If anyone in another state want to look and see if my VIN is in junk status in their state, they're more than welcome.

Re: Junk certificate vs salvage title???
Here in NH all you need is a bill of sale, then get a vin verification done by a licensed car dealer or police officer, send this to the DMV and you get a clean NH tittle as long as nothing like stolen comes up. So you could probably go to an other state, get a clean tittle, but the vin number would most likely be flagged in your state if you tried to register or tittle it there. We have no junk tittle here.
