Painting ac cmpresser brackets

What kind of paint should I use to paint my ac compression brackets. They are bair mettle and I want to paint them black.

Any standard automotive/metal spray paint you buy at the parts or hardware store should work. Get an etching primer and lay down a few layers of that, and then whatever black suits your fancy.

I have found that Rustoleum Gloss Black appliance epoxy spray paint is nearly as hard as power coating, and would work well in this application. Years ago I had all my Alan Grove engine brackets powder coated, and they have held up extremely well. But if I had to do it again I'd simply spray them with Appliance Epoxy which is cheaper and quicker.

If you use this, get a good respirator to protect your lungs and paint outdoors if possible.

I like the VHT satin black. It's closer to the original sheen then gloss black is.

Rustoleum 2 in-one semi gloss black works great in spray cans.

My biggest concern is heat. Will all of those stand up to the engine heat?

They will stand up to heat, but the bolts that hold it all together will probably grind/scrape off the rustoleum as you tighten and flake/rust out eventually. Not trying to bum you out, just my experience.
