Dealer Installed Spotlight???

Just curious, how rare is the dealer installed spotlight? My Blazer has one. I'm in the middle of my restoration and I'm torn about putting it back on. I think it looks ugly, but...... They put a hole right through the window frame to mount the thing, so if I'm not going to use it, I would patch it up. Just curious if anybody had any opinions on them.

They certianly add to the cool/odd factor, but I agree they look kinda funny.
Here is a pic of a dealer installed one on a 69 Cutom Camper CST/20 Longhorn. (longhornjeff's rig)
Something that may help you decide, look into your local laws. Jeff was tellin me they are illegal to use where he lives. If I couldn't have it hooked up, I wouldn't keep it myself.

bummer...I can't find the pic of Jeff's spot light.

I'm looking for the brackets (inside & outside) that mount the spotlight to the A pillar for my '71 Jimmy. I have the cop light, and the bulb and switch are good.

Found the pic.
If memory serves, Jeff told me it still has the GM logo on the bulb.

Blue Beard, you'd be amazed at the condition of everythign on Jeff's longhorn. It is a one owner low mileage truck. If memory serves, that rig only has like 60K on the clock.

Kanter's sells them new. Supposedly it's the same Mfr. They also have different logos for various makes, Chevy, GM, etc. Kinda spendy to get them there, though.
