If it aint one thing, it's something else
Ever have one of those days where nothing goes right?
My 64 stepper was in paint jail for 8 months and tonight is a local get together of all the old beaters around town....The painter called me at 1:00 pm said she was ready to go..... Still has a ways to go since the guy didn't do a few things we talked about...but the thing that totally screwed up my day was the transmission went out on the way home. Probably time to ditch that old school powerglide and throw something else behind that old 283.

Re: If it aint one thing, it's something else
So my painter calls me after 3 years in paint jail, go to pick it up and someone had backed into the passenger side rear post. A couple of months later it's ready again and this time someone backed into the drivers side.A few weeks after, he has me back into the paint booth so I could get the cab out dent free.
The truck has been stored for years in a building that's been contaminated with PCB's. Finally get it out, fire it up, runs great, backfires and now there's no oil pressure. Crap Happens!

Good reason for me to do my own painting. lol. A t5 would be a nice tranny to mount behind the 283.

^^^ Agreed. Although I'd be having a hard time adjusting to the extra 2 gears! Lol. Just one of those days. They always seem to happen to me the more I plan. I try not to plan any more in a effort to throw "those days" off my trail!
