Anyone went from electric windows to manual

My build truck and parts truck both have electric windows and believe it or not all 4 motors are dead and switches are ugly. Has anyone swapped over to manual.

Re: Anyone went from electric windows to manual

I have manual windows and I'd kinda like to go power. The only thing is to me it's just not worth the work to convert. One of theses days I will score all the stuff in the wrecking yard. Then make that decision

Re: Anyone went from electric windows to manual

I just swapped my manual to electric in my 91 Silverado. Not hard at all, should be easier to go to manual for sure. I have all 4 doors of the manual stuff if interested??

Re: Anyone went from electric windows to manual

Why not replace the motors and run different switches?Or even hide the switches somewhere no one will see them?

Re: Anyone went from electric windows to manual

It is easy. Take out power assembly, put in manual, hole in panel should line up too. Earlier doors were a little different, but if you have power already, shouldnt be a problem, I think.

Re: Anyone went from electric windows to manual

I have replaced motors and regulators in my trucks, and I have to say, it's cheap easy and when you are done you have power windows that work like new. I think the motors were $35.

I have to take off my seat belt, slide to the middle of the bench to roll up/down my passenger window in my Suburban. I'll take power any day!

You can use any kind of cool switch you like!
