77 Sierra Steering problem.
Hey guys i need some help, it seems my steering is in a bind. With the wheels on the ground i can barely turn the wheels about a 1/2 of what they should be then i hear the pump whining. both directions this occurs. i jacked it up at my work today when i got off and i tried it then and it turned all the way lock to lock no noise or anything. Any suggestions, i was thinking maybe the steering gear is getting bound.

Any leak in the lines? Sounds like it could be sucking air in causing the pump to aerate...

Take the reservoir cap off after shutting the engine down.. if its full of bubbles (air), then it sucking air into the system some how. If you just flushed it recently, it can take a while for all the air to work itself out. Otherwise, yes, I would try bleeding the system with new fluid.
