speed warning speedometer parts

Hi ! I have a speed warning speedo in a cluster that came in the last 72 that I bought. The speedo is there with the offset needle and the white needle. But that's all there is,,, the bezel has the hole where I assume there was a knob or dial to set the warning needle . From what I have read there should be a buzzer or something on the back side of the bezel.
Is there anywhere to get these parts ? Wasn't the speed warning a 69 year only option ? I don't know a lot about these ,, and don't really have any plans on restoring it unless the parts to complete it are very affordable .

Thank you in advance for any and all input ! Have a great day !!!
Tom

Re: speed warning speedometer parts

You are missing the adjustment cable. Also need a wiring harness and buzzer. Parts are hard to find. You can become a subscribing member and post a want to buy ad for parts or search for people selling what you need. They were an option from 67-69

Re: speed warning speedometer parts

Could someone post a picture of the back of one of these that is complete ? Then I could get a better idea of what all I would be looking for .
Thank you Leddzepp !! Is the wiring part of the printed circuit or an additional harness ?

Thank You
Tom

Re: speed warning speedometer parts

Additional separate harness that runs about $20. Clips onto the brass "lug" or "peg" on the back of the cluster

Tom:
There are pictures of a complete speed warning speedo. They may not be rare but they are uncommon, expensive when available, and are not reproduced in the aftermarket. Use a little caution, though. When any vendor says, "may need serviced" what he really means is: "I know it doesn't work but I'd be glad to lighten your wallet considerably if you're dumb enough to buy this POS".
Good Luck!

Re: speed warning speedometer parts

Wow !!! $295 for just the speedo !

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-196...944&rmvSB=true

And like VETTEDRVR said "may need serviced ".

$295 is almost 30% of what I paid for my truck . And I got the whole cluster !!

I think I'll put the one I have in a safe place and add it to my list of assets !!!

I'd be willing to trade this speedo for a fairly solid short box truck !!!!!! LOL !

Thumbs up Re: speed warning speedometer parts

I sold this a couple of years ago. It had the speed warning, tach and all the gauges with a clock I added.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: speed warning speedometer parts

Here is a factory correct buzzer with harness. The white wire clips to the brass lug on the back, the orange wire goes to a keyed power source. The buzzer mounts behind the dash.

Re: speed warning speedometer parts

I've seen the cable mounted in various spots on the bezel. Here is the one in my truck, I copied the location from the original bezel I had.
