Exclamation Looking for sheet metal in the Georgetown/Austin Texas area

So I'm about to start working on my truck and I need some help, I have no idea where to get sheet metal, tube and other misc stuff for my truck. Anyone have suggestions where I can find someone?

Re: Looking for sheet metal in the Georgetown/Austin Texas area

For sheet metal, your choice is aftermarket of junkyards. I prefer junkyards. Aftermarket will not fit as well and the metal is thinner. If you just need driver quality parts and don't mind fiddling with the sheet metal, then aftermarket is OK. Shipping can be prohibitively expensive on aftermarket parts if you buy them online, so get them locally if possible.

I am not sure what you mean by "tube".

Best to give a more specific list of parts and we can give you better direction.

If you check the parts for sale section of this forum or post a parts wanted listing that will be a good start.

There is a place on the north side of Houston that deals with new and old parts, I bet they could fill the need for all the parts you are looking for, and shipping to the Austin area would not be to bad, try giving them a call, great people that run the place, Roger and Connie. They are closed on Mondays, here is link to their website.

There is a few wrench a part locations in Austin and Belton. They have a web site where you can see what they got in stock before you make the drive. Prices aren't bad. I got a new cab for my 76 for $250.
