Need oil dipstick replacement, cant find anywhere

when I got my truck from my grandfather, he said the oil dipstick got lost. now, since I am in the process of cleaning up the engine, and the oil is about 5 years old, I think its time for an oil change, however I don't have a dipstick and I don't want to over/under fill the engine. ive looked all over the internet for one but all I find is weird dipstick and tube combos. anyone know where I can find an original oil dipstick for an 87 sierra r1500?

Assuming it's a 305 or 350 with the dipstick on the passenger's side, these parts will do it:

Dipstick tube: GM 12551154
Dipstick: GM 12551144

Google the P/Ns to find them online.

That's what I was gonna suggest. There are 4 or 5 of those trucks in a wrecking yard here in town. I'm sure you could locate one rather easily, IF there are wrecking yards in your area. GTT
