Are all 73-87 tcase crossmembers the same?

Looking at building a 4x4 for DD in the winter, occasional towing duty. From what I can tell the 2wd frames are different up front, and the 4wd 1/2 and 3/4 frams are the same with springs and axles being different. I've found a couple of frames, including Blazer and 3/4 ton, and even a couple complete (ish) rollers. So far what I have come up against is the T-case crossmember. Most of the frames do not have it. Some of the rollers do but not all. Curious to know if they are all the same, or are they different by year, tcase, or other?

BTW I currently have an a-833 4wd version sitting in the shed, along with a pair of 1/2 ton axles with 3.08 gears, and a bolt in hump. If I can't find a good roller I'm going to be tempted by this spare 82 body I have....

Re: Are all 73-87 tcase crossmembers the same?

73 to 84 half and three quarter tons share the same.
1 ton is shorter to accommodate the larger frame.
85 and up use the same.

It really depends on the tcase adapter you are using. That will tell you what crossmember to use.

2 different cross members, one that is flat like the older trucks and around 84/85 the cross member rises up in the middle to meet the shorter adapter. I can snap some pics of mine, I put an 1984 sm465/np205 combo in my 86 K5 and had to use the older cross member.
