Re: OEM disappering!!
Speaking of AC Delco, here's a link to their parts catalog. It's a great reference.

TBI fuel pumps??? Do it like GM did from 1987 on... Wye off the valves' D & E terminal wires to the fuel pump hot terminals. The stock TBI sender/fuel pump power connection is a 2 position Weatherpack and the sender/fuel pump. Setup as GM did... The active pump will have power and ground and the inactive pump will have two grounds. You'll need to sync the valve position to match the active fuel pump by connecting the correct hoses...

Re: OEM disappering!!
Yep, sounds like a LOT of fun. I recently acquired an MFI 454 and 4L80E from Craigslist. I actually only wanted the 4 speed transb1t1chin' but I got the whole package for 12oo bucks. If it's not blown up or headed that way, i got such a deal I just gotta put that in my ol' square dually. I initially was planning on using an inline pump between the twin tank valve and the engine but at that truck's age the tanks need to be re-done or replaced anyway. I thought the best performing option a that point would be in-tank pumps. It hasn't been set in stone yet.
I don't yet know what the current rating of the switch in the tank valve is nor do I know what those high pressure in tank pumps draw. Hence the relay suggestion. Sounds like a grand ol' time.... |

It's annoying there's a limit to post editing. So I have to start a new post.
Interesting technique for the twin tank pumps. Looks like I'm gonna be having fun in the future. |

Re: OEM disappering!!
They were the original supplier of a lot of electrically operated dual purpose valves-they supplied GM, Ford and others with the dual tank splitting valves. They may be getting obsolete through GM (I don't know if in fact they so make the "knock-off GM" aftermarket valves) but they would be just as good as buying NOS GM. Possibly cheaper too-I remember when ROH wheels out of Canada made the first several sets of prototype wheels for the upcoming 1994 Impala SS at GM's specs, then GM opted to outsource them for cheaper from another wheel company. ROH came out with their "Snyper" series wheels which were essentially the same GM wheel without an Impala logo on the center cap and no GM part number. So it was considered a knock-off GM wheel of sorts lol. GM at the time was about $550 per wheel and a set of 4 Snyper wheels were $550/set delivered to my door from Canada!
So in summary, Pollak valves are every bit as reliable as a genuine GM USA made part. |

Re: OEM disappering!!
Hasn't Delphi been the main parts supply for GM for a while now? Meaning delco is people remembering the past. I know fuel pumps are delphi stock....
