Aftermarket fuel tank problem
I just bought an aftermarket fuel tank for my 72c10 and the fuel cap won't fit. The filler neck is bigger than the fuel cap I have. Anyone ran into this issue?

Re: Aftermarket fuel tank problem
They probably gave you a tank for an earlier truck. I think 71 and 72 C-10's would both have the EEC vent on them stock, and those tanks used a smaller non-vented cap.

Re: Aftermarket fuel tank problem
Gonna bring back this old thread---
Just put a new Spectre fuel tank in my 72. My old tank/system had EEC and so does the new tank. I went to swap the fuel cap from old tank to new tank, and the new filler neck is larger, so my cap does me no good. Anyone have ideas? Did Spectre weld the wrong filler neck on? Any ideas on finding the correct cap besides trial and error? Kinda wishing I had just resealed my old tank, wasn't even rusty like I thought Does anyone know for sure if there is a larger, non-vented cap than the 72 w/EEC cap?? |
