Brake ? Clip On VS. Bolt On Calipers
I plan on using drop spindles to lower my 68 C20 8 lug GMC and convert to disc brakes. I am thinking of using Chassis Tech 1971-1991 C20 3" drop spindles. I can choose either "clip on caliper" or "bolt on caliper" spindles. The plan is to use 71 discs, calipers, ball joints, ect.
My question is what type of calipers are on a 71 C20 clip on Or bolt on? BTW:The reason for ussing Chassis Tech spindles is to avoid spending $900+ on the 1963-70 C20 Front brake conversion kit from POL. Thank You!

Re: Brake ? Clip On VS. Bolt On Calipers
I would highly recommend you Google or do a search on chassis tech or the other name the company is known by which is AIM, I didn't when I first started and sure wish I did. You would want the bolt on calipers because I bought dropped spindles for my C30 dually from Belltech and they use clip on calipers. Only problem is no one knows what these clip on calipers are from. Good luck! I know what a pain in the backside it is to do anything other than a common C10!

Thanks for the advise. It does suck that chassis tech is the only company offering an spindle for an 8 lug c20 that i know of. I really want to keep 8 lug because I really want to keep it 3/4.ton all around. Not sure if im vonna roll the dice on chassis tech but i sure would like to be closer to the ground.

Do a search on AIM Industries and see just how many complaints there are about those clowns before you buy anything. I wouldn't trust them to supply washers. |
