Power steering remote reservoir hose

What do I use for the remote reservoir hose on my big block? Whatever the PO put on there sweats PS fluid right through the walls and makes a mess.

Weather head Hydraulic hose, not as flexible as the OE hose but will last forever in that situation

Some of the Chevelle parts suppliers have the correct hose. Search for a big block Chevelle....that's where I got mine.....

Re: Power steering remote reservoir hose

You need hydraulic return (suction) line. Try a good parts store or hydraulic shop that makes hoses. Also Northern Tool or similar places sell it too.

Re: Power steering remote reservoir hose

Here is my original post when I was looking for a replacement....part number for an oem style hose is at the end....might be cheaper to go with the hoses the other members are suggesting....

Re: Power steering remote reservoir hose

Here are some part number for the correct hose

Big block PS hose (between resovoir and pump body).

The #34999 CarQuest.

Gates has it available in a 10' section or a 3' section.

P/N: for 10' is #34990
P/N: for 3' is #362100

Rock Auto has the 3' section #362100 in stock
Napa number #NPS 73306

Re: Power steering remote reservoir hose

Follow-up: Just bought 3/4" fuel line (!) from NAPA, which Mr. Parts Guy thought would work for PS fluid. Only $5/foot so worth a shot.

A marine shop will have what you need as well.

Re: Power steering remote reservoir hose

you may be tempted to use heater hose as return lines. dont. they get soggy and sweat steering fluid. potential fire hazard too. dont do it except maybe in a pinch as an emergency.

Ya, that's why I posted. It's making a mess and it's dangerous! Thanks! Haven't tried my new fuel line yet.
