Another deadbeat seller On ebay!!!!

I bought an NOS outer grille for my 72 chev pickup on ebay. the guy said he'd sell it now for 200 dollars and 46 dollars shipping. He needed the money right now. I sent a money order out to be delivered to him the next day. Guess what, the grille never showed up. I have gone through square trade and ebay and nothing has happened. THIS IS A WARNING TO WATCH YOUSELF ON EBAY. I'm in Minnesota, and he's in LA. Here's his phone number, he won't talk to me anymore, I'm ready to fly out there and get my grille!714-778-1143, it's under Rebekah Crouch. Call them and give them h---! thanks, Don

Don't know which money order you used....but I always use the US Postal Money Order.........

Then if there is a problem they also are going to be a federal issue for backing as well....

My brother bought a set of hotchkis springs jan. 22 using "buy it now". The guy said he would get them out right away. We were expecting delivery within a week, needless to say they finally showed up today at the P.O., over 3 weeks later. My brother also sold a set of camaro heater controls to a guy in New Orleans. He shipped them Jan. 16 using 2-3 day priority mail. The guy still does not have them. After going down to the Post Office and speaking with the Postmaster, they traced them to another post office in La. He should be getting them mon-tues. Now if the guy just won't talk to you and won't come up with the parts, thats a little different, I hope he gets what he deserves. I just want to point out that when you are buying/selling/shipping parts, it isn't always the sellers fault. And BlueBeard is right, I try to use Postal Money Orders whenever I can. Later.......Jerry

Ditto on the Postal Money Orders. Crappy when others will not cooperate...like a goofed up seller I recently wrestled with in Oregon. Square Trade (that I paid for) finally did resolve things, after numerous THREATS, allegations and ridiculous e-mails from the seller who collected my payment then was lazy as heck AND UNcooperative.

I hope it works out for you, one way or another...soon.

Wouldn't mind knowing who that Oregon seller was just to give me a heads up in case I'm looking to buy something from him.

Thanks

Like Bamm said, it isn't always the sellers fault. I sent some stuff to a board member through Fedex recently and it took a little longer than usual because of the weather in his area.

I would like to know who from oregon also sactoC10 please PM me ? I sold a fan shroud to rage'nrat638 [ Mark ] here a while back i sent it 2 day delivery . Mark was very patient and understanding when i assured him that i indeed had shipped it to him . Long story short it took 30 days thru post office so it is not always the sellers fault .

clean advice..........never ever bid on something with less than 96% positive feedback. I don't even bid on anything when there is 0 feedback. There's enough parts out there that another will come up........shoot.......I t hink the board members own half the parts inthe world. I hope I don't owe anyone anything........man.......if I do let me know.......I am forgetful but I standby my committments.

Man that really sucks!! I hope you get your items. I sell on ebay and I ship stuff ASAP. I have also had to deal with dead beats who ship when ever they feel like it. The last guy I bought from stopped returning my e-mails so I started sending 30-40 at a time. He finally sent my item, 53 day after auction ended. Wes.

First note: I don't want to get this thread off track, but since there were several inquiries... The ebayer from the Northwest who gave me hell was subiedude and here is a link to his feedback.

http://cgi2.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-c...item=-1&de=off

Yet you will see he is at 95% positive, which is misleading. I ended up leaving him positive, but very plain feedback in an effort to keep him from ruining my feedback. I am at 99% positive and was only tainted by (1) bonehead from Chicago who slammed me after I complained about him for being a deadbeat bidder. After that happened, I realized how easily someone can screw up my feedback, so I have been more careful about what I leave.

Subiedude did not answer questions, did not communicate and seemed to disappear after collecting my payment. I could not print on this board the suggestions he gave me via e-mail about "what I could do" with the items.

Don, still wanting you to have success in that transaction, one way or another. Jeff

Unhappy ebaying blues

If subiedude did not have some very blatantly bad feedback from others, then I'd not bother saying anything...but mine was not the only rotten experience with him. I always give folks the benefit of the doubt, think positive and hope for the best. Yet in this case, just be careful...he does have some GREAT feedback too.

Yet for every NASTY ebay experience I've had (about one per year) there are at least a couple of really GREAT ones, so it all balances out. But it sucks to throw away money, or send it to someone so they can steal it!

Go figure.

I ALWAYS use my credit card through Paypal when dealing with people online. If they try to screw me over I can dispute the charges that way. Works every time. I used to use MO's if they didn't use Paypal but not any more after getting shafted once over a $40 part. I also bought $500 worth of stuff once and never received anything from the company. I disputed it with Paypal and my credit card and got my $$ back. If someone won't take Paypal I don't fool with them. If I think they might be trouble (they have more than one negative per hundred) or they don't have much/any feedback then it's credit card through Paypal or I don't buy/bid.

grille

I never did get the grille from the guy in LA. It was last July and August. Since then I have ordered a couple of them from my local GM dealer, thats what I should have done the first time.
