How can I tell what ball joint my 2.5" drop spindle uses

The spindle setup is for 73-87 brake stuff but when I tried to use the 68 balljoints they would not seat all the way down on the top. Maybe I need 72-87 ball joints? I have not got around to checking it out yet. I am on an issue with rear brakes grabbing on my 70 Jimmy. Maybe early next week. I will post all the info.
