Stripe

Trying to determine the paint job for a '70 K5 I am building. I have seen a few builds painted with a white stripe and upper trim like the pickups. Did the K5 ever come from the factory with a white side stripe?

Re: Stripe

IMO, the Blazers are too short for that paint scheme, and would look goofy. I think they look best in one solid color.

Google 72 blazer, it's been done. I like it myself but it wasn't original.

Re: Stripe

Yes, I have seen some of these also. I think the upper piece of trim is from the pickups. Do the pickups with a white stripe have some type of indentification that gives the base color and the existence of a stripe? And if so, wouldn't it be the same if the K5s came factory with a stripe?

Re: Stripe

I think it says on the spid, something like white/blue/white/blue for the pattern with the upper belt molding. But I don't believe blazers had the upper molding, only lower.

Re: Stripe

The upper molding is from a truck. Perhaps they make an aftermarket set these days since many like the look?
