Re: Driving to work this morning.....

Teachers rock, thanks for bringing the hobby to the kids. I wasnt the best kid growing up but i got lucky and had a metal shop teacher take me under his wing and teach me some mechanics and machine shop, later in life i grew to use those skills he taught me. Some of you might know him if your into drag racing, his name is jerry darien he had the force girls racing his truck light top alcohol dragster last year. When i get to see him i let him know how much i appreciate what he taught me. Thanks jerry.

man I know the feeling, I spent endless hours just driving mine around. No stereo installed, no destination, windows down, just... cruising. thanks for the sum up

I was instantly reminded how much I love this truck and how on even the worst days (like actually going to work) things can't be that bad. I love everything from the dash to way the ribs in the steering wheel perfectly fit my hand. Love the curved windshield and the wide view it offers. Love looking over the hood and seeing that V (especially with mine painted). Everything about the character of this truck is great. Even down to crappy pencils that are still on the dash from the previous owner who last had it on the road in 1979 makes this truck even cooler to me.

Just really glad I've got the opportunity to own and build such a kickass truck. I hope some of you also got to enjoy your trucks this morning as well.
This is EXACTLY what set me back on the path to building a 60's era truck again. I have put 160,000 miles on my 2006 Chevy Diesel truck (mostly) commuting back and forth to work. I decided that I still have somewhere between 10-15 more years to do this commute and I want to drive something cool to work and back, not something new.(er)
I have my Chevelle for the weekends and my Nova for drag racing (if it's ever finished), and a cool truck to go to work and back would be enough for me.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Helps motivate me.
