72 4x4 3/4t - Front Suspension rebuild parts list?
Since my 72 K2500 will be my daily driver for the foreseeable future, planning on putting in some preventative maintenance. Engine and trans are solid, so I'm now looking at the suspension.
Without knowing what the PO did/didn't do, I'm planning on just rebuilding the front suspension. And before I begin the teardown, I want to make sure I've got everything. What would be a comprehensive list of parts to purchase for a front-end rebuild on a 72 K2500 with a Dana44 front axle and a 6inch lift? And what recommended brands? Ball joints, tie rod ends, shocks. Bushings? And since I'll have the whole thing apart, might as well put new brake pads and wheel bearings on her. Maybe even new front brake hoses (who knows how old these are).

Tie rod ends
Drag link ends Ball joints Spindle bearings Wheel seals Inner wheel bearings/races Outer wheel bearings/races Shocks Steering stabilizer Precision makes good steering parts and are available from Napa. I get all my stuff from them and quality has been good. Just bought an inner bearing and it's made in Germany

Check out the White Elephant's build thread. he gives most of the part numbers for the Dana 44 rebuild. All of the 44 parts were the same as my 72 3/4 ton front end. The ball joints, tie rod ends ,and drag link parts I got from Rock Auto.

Thanks for giving me the heads-up on that thread. It'll certainly come in handy.

Best thing to do is have someone rock the steering wheel while you look under the front end. Check everything for slop and only replace whats broke. The newer parts are nowhere near as good as the originals. My 72 K20 only had 46k miles as a brush truck for a local fire dept but was worked really hard. I replaced the link between the steering arm and axle along with ball joints 2 years later. Everything else is probably still original. I did replace the front springs with a cheap 4" lift and added a factory sway bar from a 73+ blazer. I also replaced the rear springs to get rid of the lift blocks in the rear. As far as replacing tie rods and joints I go straight to Moog problem solvers. I am sure that there are better aftermarket specialty parts but the moogs are the best off the shelf pieces as a general rule.
