A few issues with a build
I haven't posted in quite some time, but life got in the way of our build. Things have eased up and we are working as fast as we can. I have run into some issues and any help would be greatly appreciated.
A)This is our build: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=618078 B) I was making good progress until I got to the kick down bracket and cannot figure out where it is supposed to attach on the drivers side of the engine. I looked up pictures on google and this site but never found where it should go. I have a rough idea, rear of the engine, driver side, last two bolt holes on the manifold. But it doesn't because of a ridge on the manifold. Then the throttle cable and bracket..... The bracket does not sit on the manifold / carb studs and the throttle cable is to long and was bent to make it fit. It is an Edelbrock manifold and carb, the spacing on the studs is approx 5 3/8", I bought a factory throttle cable today and it is approx 6" to long. Is an aftermarket set-up that different from factory manifold and carb that the lengths are so far off? Does anyone have an idea on parts numbers or products to rectify these issues? I'll see about getting pictures loaded here in a bit. Just a little on the frustrated side right now. TIA.

Re: A few issues with a build
I have the standard GM #352279 throttle cable bracket on an Edelbrock carb, and it works fine.
For any SBC or BBC C/K from 1978 to 1982, the correct part number is GM 1259333. 25.5" long. I'm also using the stock kickdown bracket. This is one here, mounted.

Re: A few issues with a build
Thanks for the info. Clearly there is something I am doing wrong.
