62 bagged Kneekocker project
I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Jeff and I have enjoyed browsing the build section for a while. I'm a retired electrician and converted into a body shop man for pleasure and something different.
Recently I purchased a1962 c-10 cab sitting in the weeds of my brother in-laws for $100 and decided to make a bagged project out of it. My goal was to build a complete frame and suspension and have a working rolling chassis before I mount the cab. Here are some pic's of the beginning and start of my project. |

Re: 62 bagged Kneekocker project
No progress to report, still waiting for the machine shop to finish drilling/tapping my cross shafts for my upper/lower A-arm mounts.
Once their completed I can finish the final fit and weldment of the front suspension and head toward the rear 4-link fab work, |

Re: 62 bagged Kneekocker project
Nice work! Are you planning on running big wheels? smaller wheels probably won't work with those lower arms.

Re: 62 bagged Kneekocker project
Small wheels, for the time being. I've done the geometry /math and it doesn't seem to be an issue with 15/16 inch rims. I have clearance for 40 degrees of turn radius, Im not looking for the performance of a Lamborghini.

Re: 62 bagged Kneekocker project
Lmao. You had me second guessing my measurements, I checked this morning and I have well over 40 degree turn radius and plenty of clearance with 15'rim. The only problem I have found is somewhere after 43 degrees the spindle steering arm gets into the bag. I'm pretty sure 40 degrees will be plenty and I will have to weld on a stop/block. Props for having a good eye, most would have not second guessed it.
