Need a pipe as a pattern.

I have made several 4x4 radiator pipes for the 68-72's. I would like a pipe that would be correct for the straight neck thermostat housing with the oil filler tube in front of the intake manifold (like on a 283/327). Anybody have one I could borrow/buy. Needs to be complete, but can have lots of holes. Thank you, Bruce

Re: Need a pipe as a pattern.

I don't have one but would be a buyer if you can get these produced.

jmader,
I know you have been looking for quite awhile. You are one of the inspirations for me to find a bad one and re-make a new one. Bruce

I think I have one but I don't have a clue what it is off of. I will take the camera back out with me when I go and take a couple of pictures of it.

Re: Need a pipe as a pattern.

Leon,
Thank you for the pics. This is an upper radiator water pipe for 68-72 4x4 truck, blazer and I think burb. I am currently re-making this pipe. Aluminized steel or 304 SS. Mandrel bends, hose beads. Only differences from the original 1-I dont stamp the part #, 2- I have to splice and TIG weld between the two bends closest to the thermostat. The jaws on the bend need more room than the original pipe allows.
I am currently looking for a pipe that is for the 283/327 and possible V6 motors with the oil fill tube in front of the intake manifold. There is a post with a pic of one but I do not know to post it here. I guess I am still a "newbie"
Thank you again, Bruce

No problem Bruce.

As far as posting a link in a post, just go to the thread you want to link in your post, put your mouse cursor in the location window (that's the one that starts with the http://www) and click the RIGHT mouse button once. The window should turn blue and a small window will pop up. Click on COPY in that window. Now start your post in the thread you want the link posted in and click your RIGHT mouse button in the message window. Click on PASTE and the link will be inserted into your post. Just be sure there is a blank space before and after the inserted link.

It sounds a little intimidating but once you do it you will see it is really easy....

How much are you selling the 4x4 upper radiator pipes for?

Re: Need a pipe as a pattern.

A longshot, but would this one possibly work? I think all the 60-66 V8's had the oil filler tube on the intake manifold also.

Re: Need a pipe as a pattern.

We are looking for a hard upper pipe on a 60-67 4X4. My understanding is the oil filler is in the intake manifold and the thermostat housing is pointing nearly straight forward.

Re: Need a pipe as a pattern.

Jmader, the pipe in the link is pretty darn close to photos I have seen. Of course the bends in the photo are not mandrel bends.
