I'm having trouble finding a notch for my c20, are they the same as the c10? Thanks

Adam I have always been told that the C/10 and C/20 frame is the same. The C/30 is larger. Have a tried asking the manufacturers?

I just took my 78 c20 and my 78 c30 off their frames and they look the same. Don't have a c10 frame to compare it to but I need the answer also...

Rails are similar but the C10 notch is for a 3" OD axle tube. C20's & C30's are ~4" OD so the notch openings are different.

FYI, Western Chassis makes a C20/30 c-notch but it's <2" @ the top of the notch which = significant reduction of frame rail strength (a concern especially if still using leafs). I bought some & once I saw that 2" dimension they were tossed. Instead, I bought step notches from Porterbuilt to maintain strength. Ironically..... PB's step notch set-up was about the same price.

Would you happen to know how wide the top of the frame rails are back in that area?

So I spoke with Western Chassis and their tech guy really didnt sound very confident the c20 notch was any different than the c10.

I'm converting this truck to 1/2 ton so I'm hoping the bolt in notch will work.

I've had both (C10 & C30) c-notches from Western Chassis. The difference was the notched opening. The C10 version was round. The C30 version was flat-plate bent @ 45` angles w/a 4" top section.
