Need help with finding parts for my 6.2 diesel
Ok so long story short finally getting around to fixing my blazer up or making it at least start able haha. The kid I bought it from never put the starter support bracket back in so one of the bolts broke off go figure. Have found a few online off Ebay and Amazon but not entirely sure which one I need since I don't have one to compare to. Tried local junkyards and Spaldings with no luck they had no idea what I was talking about. Thanks for any advice or some pointers in the right direction.

Are you going back with a stock starter, or one of the hi-torque mini starters?

Re: Need help with finding parts for my 6.2 diesel
I got a brand new stock one given to me with the Blazer just going to run that for now probably. Have been looking at some of the hi torque ones will probably get one when money allows. This is my first 6.2 I have owned so far so a little new to them.

Re: Need help with finding parts for my 6.2 diesel
I've got two extra starter support brackets, one for the stock starter, one for the high-torque mini starter. I just don't know where they are. If I remember right, the stock bracket is straight, the curved one is for the mini-starter. I'll see if I can find them.

Re: Need help with finding parts for my 6.2 diesel
I spent about an hour looking for them the other day, I don't know what I did with them. I wish I'd remembered you earlier, I just left a C20 Burb in the junkyard that still had the 6.2 in it. If it's still there when I go back I'll grab it for you.

Re: Need help with finding parts for my 6.2 diesel
I went back and checked that diesel. The starter was on it but the support bracket was gone. I checked mine, I have the straight one, you will need the curved one. I'll be in the shop later, I'll look for it again.

Oh shoot ok so the straight one is for the aftermarket mini starters and the curved one is the stock one?

Re: Need help with finding parts for my 6.2 diesel
I remembered them wrong, I checked mine and it has the straight support bracket on and I upgraded to the smaller high torque version when my stock style failed. You need the curved bracket for the stock starter.
