Alternator Wiring Guru Help Needed.
Ok, my alternator went out yesterday on my 1970 C10. I ordered a new high 150 amp alternator from powermaster. I can't seem to find an answer on the website or here so.......it's going to be a 3 wire hook up with the sensing wire.
I ordered the alternator to battery larger 6 gauge cable at the same time. Do I hook this wire to the current battery junction box on the firewall that the old system used with the fusible linkage? Or go straight to the battery? Do I need to upgrade the fusible link? If I go straight to the battery, what would I use as overprotection so I don't blow up the battery or some crazy stuff? Anything else I'm missing? What about ground cable systems? Anybody have some diagram? Don't wanna fry the truck down. Thanks.

Re: Alternator Wiring Guru Help Needed.
I have a 7 gauge cluster but no amp meter. I have an aftermarket volt meter.
Where did you get your junction block from? Yes. If you have a drawing with the ground connections that will help also. Thanks

Re: Alternator Wiring Guru Help Needed.
I purchased and installed a power master myself, and their email support was awesome if that helps too.

So the 100 amp alternator barely kept up, I figured I'd go the next one higher. The techs at powermaster said at an idle with all that I needed around 80 amp. A 100 amp alternator only put out about 70 at idle. I drive in heavy traffic at a slow pace sometimes. They recommended the 140-150 alternator.
