V8 Engine Lifting brackets ? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a 71 C20 with 307, the engine has lifting brackets installed on the drivers side front and passengers side rear of intake. Where these left in place during assembly or could the engine be a replacement ? The truck is mostly original but can't determine if the engine is ? Thanks will post photos if it helps

They are placed there by the factory to allow engine removal after delivery. To stay original leave them in place.
