C10 owner needs Blazer help
Got my eye on a 1972 Blazer. Looks very rusty from the pics (have not yet seen it). Can I assume the fenders and doors are the same as C10s? Are the rear quarters or patch panels available? Thank you.

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
The fenders, hood, grill are C10/20/30
Door skins are the same Quarters are available and smaller patch panels are too Look for rust behind the doors and the box under the doors that supports the body Rust in and below the windshield is common and harder to fix. The body gaps are adjusted with shims under the body mounts and can be a challenge

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
Thanks, after the post I realized the doors are not the same. I will see this truck tomorrow, and thanks for the info. $2500 for running driving unit, but really rusty behind the doors on the quarters.

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
Its all repairable. I did mine about 15 years ago and used pick up parts or just made my own. It took a long time but was worth it.

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
You need to ask yourself how much you want to invest into it. Full quarters are now available, as well as just about everything else. Looking at the picture, I would crawl under it to really see how much rust there is. If you can't do the work yourself, it may not be worth it.IMO

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
Not afraid the rust, been there before. My C10 was much worse than I anticipated as they all are. I do all the work myself, but still have to put a number to it. I'll know more tomorrow when I see it. Thanks for the the tips on where to look.

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
One thing I forgot to mention. I'm sure you already know, but check that darn windshield frame! That is one part that's not available, and is known to rot.

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
Now that I see it $2500 is a good deal if your doing the work yourself.
Just brace the body before you cut out the rust. Door Jams to A pillar Door Jam to Door Jam and Bottom of the door opening when doing rockers. Leave the top on if possible it provides alignment. I have seen excellent rust repairs done only to find that the top no longer fits. Best of luck and post more pictures!

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
Doors are the same, you would just have to cut the window frames off. There was a good write up on here somewhere.

Re: C10 owner needs Blazer help
Thank you, found a thread that explains the procedure for converting the doors and adding the plate, and brass catches. Called the guy about seeing the truck over the weekend and was told hornets and wasps had taken it over. He is going to clear them out, put in a battery and give me a call.
