Muffler poll

Which are louder: Flowmaster 40 or Magnaflow XL Series? My new toy has Flowmasters from PO. I have never been s fan of Flows. Heard a big dodge truck today that sounded just like my ride. Then a freakin' mustang.... They all sound pretty much the same. Opinions on Magnaflows would be appreciated!

I have no experience, just thought I would cast a vote for the heck of it. Good luck!

When I bought my truck the PO had installed blowmaster 40's and an anemic 350. Sounded like a rice burner breathing through phart cans. An engine change to a robust big block and a new set of stainless Magnaflow XL's made all the difference.

Sounds like this:

Not to mention, that Richard from Magnaflow makes the short ride from their plant in RSM, over to Huntington Beach with custom parts.
Nice deal if you can get it. Chip deserves it, though.

Re: Muffler poll

I like the Flow Masters on my BB 402. I'm running long tube headers with 2 1/2 pipes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge-F...ature=youtu.be

Re: Muffler poll

Personally like the Flowmasters. Did a lot of research and they give a good rumble. Just remember they all have a specific RPM that they sound good, and one that sounds like crap.

Same here - I just had two of these put on my 72 GMC Sierra Grande w/350. Nice low purr at idle, deep throaty roar when shifting/accelerating, pretty quiet at highway speeds and no drone. Really satisfied with them, and the price on Amazon was great.

$32 and free shipping!!

I have no experience with Magnaflow. I have a Flowmaster 44 on my Jeep XJ, but I'm sure the sound of that on an inline 6 is quite different from an old Chevy v8. Sorry I can't give a good comparison on the two.
