M/T pro bracket radial
I have heard good things about them . Word I got is this tire has bridged the gap between bias and radial slicks . This is not the drag radial or the radial slick , it is a new tire called the pro bracket radial . Surposed to be designed just for the bracket racer . I just ordered the 3362R 29.5 x 10.5 x 15 . we will see . Anybody have any input id like to hear it .

Re: M/T pro bracket radial
According to their compunction chart, the x5 is the same softness as the m5. The street radial r2 is softer. But the bracket radial Looks to be a 30" radial height. 94.2" roll out, bot comparable to a 10.5 slick width?

Re: M/T pro bracket radial
Are these the ones that MT was claiming acted more like a bias ply despite being a radial.?

Re: M/T pro bracket radial
A friend of mine works for the manufacturer of many racing tires, including the Mickey Thompson tires. He said the tire is unreal. They put them on some random bracket cars and picked up ET, as well as consistency, and the drivers spoke of it feeling more stable on the top end of the track. He seems to think it could be a game changer of the same extent the "pro" drag radials have been to radial tire racing. I plan to get some and give them a shot, if I can get mine out again before the season is over.

Re: M/T pro bracket radial
Hotrod,
Please keep us up to date on how they work. I need a new set of shoes now, but the only thing that I don't like is they don't have an equal to a 315/60.. Not sure how a 29.5/10.5 would be on a 12" wheel.

Re: M/T pro bracket radial
Hotrod,
I believe you may have heard right, but M/T tires have been manufactured by a third party for as long as I can remember. This has been in the works for quite some time, and is just coming to market. I think the facility is in Pennsylvania. Super73, The 29.5x10.5 should work fine on a 12" wheel. We stretch the 275 pros onto a 12" wheel all the time, and they seem to prefer the wider wheel. Of course I would default to the manufacturer suggested wheel width until others have shown the wider wheel works with this tire as well. |

Re: M/T pro bracket radial
These things are still a radial . I was at Evadale this weekend and they over sprayed the track with prep . My slicks liked like cotton candy coming off them when staging . The radials wouldn't work . Bolted the old bias plys back on and went right down it . About 7 or 8 guys on some type of radial slick and none of them could get down it . Everyone on a bias ply that had any kind of suspension that worked went right down it . 4 of the radial guys finally figured it out by turning the front full loose and softening the rear enough to big wheelie . The pro bracket radial may be a good tire , but im going to stick with a bias ply for now . My rear spring rate is 200 # and I need to be lighter . 150 or 130# would be better . My leaf spring is not common and at this point Calvert doesn't make anything with a lower rate. Back half with ladder bars would fix it , but im not going that far just for a radial .

Re: M/T pro bracket radial
Thanks for the info. The tracks local to me are not always prepped the best. Think I'll just get another set of 29.5x10.5 stiffwall tires and have my fun.

Re: M/T pro bracket radial
Im convinced this is a better tire . I just don't have the time to fine tune my setup to it . Manly due to the oddity of my truck . If I had standard type parts id stick with it til it worked then swap back to a bias ply and know it would work anywhere .
