HF Inspection Camera
My son-in-law has a Jeep with the 4.7 Mercedes-designed motor. It's got a bad misfire, and I'm wondering if the cam gear spun on the cam, since the heads were recently done. Of course, the danger is that there might have been some interference resulting in valve or piston damage. I was thinking I might buy a HF inspection camera and take a look through the spark plug holes to see if there's any visible damage. Anyone out there that's used one, and are they any good?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: HF Inspection Camera
I have one. The screen is not very bright and neither is the light on the optic end. I had to "hood" the engine area to see much. Too dark or too bright and it doesn't work well, but it does work.

Re: HF Inspection Camera
Thanks. I did some more reading and most of what I found says it's a non-interference engine, so it may not be necessary.
