Got a bunch of work done, not much for pictures,
Alternator mounted up Transmission cooler mounted up Rad all installed Rad fan in there now too We fired it up the other day too, and it started just fine and ran. Getting very close to driving it!! Did Por15 gloss black paint on the floors with the rust protection. More wiring fun, looks like a mess but its just getting all cleaned up and integrated Then did my Wirez sound deadening on the floors and back wall! It's getting so close!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Shawley's 1969 C10 Project
I got he under hood all wired up, 140amp alternator fused to the battery, my Accuair all connected to the battery, the stereo power routed to the cab, and a couple good grounds for the battery and in the engine bay.
My buddy Luke came by and worked on my truck with me till very late Saturday night so we got lots done, cleaned up all the wiring and got my deck installed, along with all the RCA's and speaker lines for the future stereo routed. Deck installed, heater controls reinstalled, ash tray back in, usb mounted, and then the sub level control where the old manual choke was. Got the cluster all in, tested and working 100%, and laid down the carpet in the cab. It ended up fitting damn good, just need to do a little adjusting because this carpet is for a truck with a bit more of a raised floor for a shifter as my truck used to have a floor shifter, but didn't have the raised floor. All powered up and working, just need my amps/speakers/custom kicks and I'll have sound Lots more to do but so little left to do! Really just need my shocks from Bag Barn, a coolant overflow, and mufflers and I'll be ale to take it around the block, then hopefully toss the box back on. |

Re: Shawley's 1969 C10 Project
Truck is soooooo close to being finished up!!!! New mirrors on it now too.
Transmission needs one thing adjusted/changed and then the bed will go on and it's ready to drive! Just needs proper exhaust and an alignment. Engine is pretty well all finished up, and we redid the alternator bracket as the last one was flexing way too much Interior is all finished up besides the stereo, need to still build custom kick panels and my sub box. False gas cap on there too. Built a bracket for the Accuair controller |

Re: Shawley's 1969 C10 Project
Well I got the truck going and driving!!!! My buddy Ryan came by and got the majority of the tranny issues resolved, as someone has modified it to run no lock up.
Took it around the block, everything is working awesome, the accuair, the motor, all of it! Can't wait to get the bed on and get it all going Need to also calibrate my GPS speedo |

Re: Shawley's 1969 C10 Project
The truck is getting so close to completion, had some transmission issues that we thought could be a simple fix, but turned out that the transmission itself was toast.
Had 1st and 2nd gear but no 3rd or 4th so got it towed to a local transmission shop, the tow truck driver himself owns a 72 Suburban Once I got there the owner had a 66' C10 himself, and knew lots about these trucks and also lots about the 700R4 transmissions, so it was great to get it worked on there Turned out it needed to be fully rebuilt, so that's what I had them do, and now I'm able to drive it! Just needs some exhaust work, the bed cut out for the diff, the stereo completed and and then it's finished!!! Well at least for this season. Not bad for 8 months |
