old bias ply vs 16" radial tires

We just took off the old split rims and I am guess original tires off the old girl and added aluminum 8 lug rims and new tires I forget the size. I was told that since I took the old bias ply tires off the truck it needed to have an alignment because it will be different because of the newer radial tires we have today vs the old style bias ply they had back when required a different toe in?
I planned on it in the future but didn't know how big of deal it really was it handles pretty good now.

If it drives fine, don't worry about it. It could pull to one side and require alignment

The alignment may not have been perfect before. Also, you didn't just change from bias-ply to radials. You also changed wheels, which likely means the width & offset has changed. Even though it's driving well, I would have the alignment checked. It's cheap insurance and may help your tires last longer.

put a line off chalk across the tire and drive straight forward. If the chalk wears off the edge and is still heavy to the middle then it needs realigned. I don't think that the alignment would change all that much going from bias to radial but anything is possible. New rims should not change a thing as it is only something hanging off the hub. The hub is what is actually being manipulated when the alignment is changed.

alignment is cheap compared to the cost of replaceing the tires that wear out with less than 10000miles on them// the longer you wait the more you wear out those new tires and sooner than later they get to the point where you end up with junk

Yes I want to and plan on getting an alignment but this project has my budjet tapped out. I have to prioritize lol. I had also heard this and wanted to know how many people had worried about this and if it was true.
anyway thanks guys! I am sure it has never been done! with only having 47,oo miles and sitting since 1988 or so I am sure it has never been done.
